The Swiss company Flyability has developed the world's first safe, damage-proof inspection drone designed for visual inspection of hazardous and hard-to-reach industrial facilities.

 

The Flyability Elios quadcopter is anchored inside a spherical frame made of durable and lightweight carbon fiber on freely rotating platforms.

 

Thanks to this protection, electric motors, blades, camera and thermal imager are reliably protected from mechanical damage in case of collisions with obstacles.

The drone bounces off an obstacle like a ball and flies further on a given course.

 

Elios is not afraid of falls from relatively low heights and can crash into walls at speeds up to 4 m / s, as proven by numerous laboratory tests.

 

The Elios shockproof drone can quickly and safely monitor such objects as: tanks under and above the ground, rooms on ships (holds and tanks), underground sewers, chimneys, equipment installed in mines and mine workings, cracks and crevices in mountains and glaciers, gas turbines and steam boilers, hazardous and hard-to-reach facilities after natural and man-made disasters, facilities and storage facilities in the nuclear, chemical and energy industries, installations in the aerospace industry, grinders, smelters and other hazardous and hard-to-reach facilities, the inspection of which is difficult, dangerous or impossible to carry out using conventional controls.
